It's been about a week and I would say it is going ok.
I hit my chore goal 3 nights out of 7. I meal planned and grocery shopped on Saturday.
What I did well:
- Scheduled the chore into my evening routine.
- Set a timer when I wanted to procrastinate so that I could put the chore off, but only for so long.
- Made sure that I recognized my effort with a mark on the white board.
What I can change:
- FOCUS. In my excitement, I've been adding other goals into my evening. I realize now that this is overwhelming me. I need to take that stuff off of my plate and just worry about the chore for right now.
- ATTITUDE. I am a perfectionist and the fact that I didn't hit my goal every night in a row is killing me. It feels like I've already failed and the three weeks isn't even up yet. I need to endorse myself for the effort and look to this week with a positive perspective.
I will adapt my approach and report back here next week.
