I agree, and it can apply to contexts outside of SI as well...

I agree it hurts... hurts that they don't understand, and hurts that they think treating (a person) harshly will make them improve/ get better/ etc.

Best thing is to ignore how they are behaving, it is their choice to behave that way and they could choose to act differently if they wanted to.
