I dunno about alternatives but if it works for you, I'd look at the seroquel instead. It seems to be known for weight gain, and I had horrible side effects on it when combined with other meds.
Seems to be a lot more alternatives for seroquel than there are for zyprexa, maybe talk with your doctor about whether the weight gain could be from the seroquel.

Working out has no effect on my weight, I've gained anyway. If I can't find an alternative I'm going to ask to have my dose lowered back to what it was because I'm pretty sure this extra weight I've put on is because of the increase.
Also, historically, seroquel has never made me gain weight, and I've been on it at least 2 or 3 times in the past...up to 800mg/day! So I highly doubt it's the seroquel.
As for alternatives, they are both AAPs so the alternatives are pretty much all the same -- different AAPs.
