call BS...your ex is going to get another job 'if' he loses this one. deal in the here and now, not 'what if' something happens 6 mos down the road. cause, 'what if' nothing happens? but you are effed over by his speculation...LOOK OUT FOR YOU! talk to your lawyer to get the best advice. but don't 'help' your ex in a way that is detrimental to you.
My ex and I agreed to put in a 'modification' clause in case he had a major life change but the fact that he has been a workaholic for the last 20 years and shows no signs of that ending, I'm not concerned. In fact the mediator looked straight at him and was like 'how old are you? you're not going to retire any time soon, why would you? you're young and not eligible for social security for years to come'...I'm not too worried, my ex has a PhD in cyber security topics and works for govt contracts...jobs are not going to disappear. anyway, it would still have to go to court for modification and would not be automatic..he'd have to show just cause.
