IMO a selfish person is one who makes a judgement about another without even trying to understand the pain and suffering that other person is going through. I'm so sorry this happened. I've had mixed response to telling people but more good than bad, people at least trying to understand. I show them some comics, drawings, and poetry that I think fits how I feel. For the people who respond with compassion, it helps A LOT. For me it is worth it to find people to tell.
