I'd like to hear from anyone who uses or has used cannabis regularly/daily to help with their bipolar disorder. I found it to be extremely helpful and was using daily from ages 16-20. Never had any issues and I wasn't diagnosed. At age 20 I was given Prozac while smoking regularly and had a severe manic episode with psychosis that lasted 3 weeks after I stopped both. Some doctors tell me I can never smoke again and that it was the weed, but from my research and conversations with other doctors, they say it was the Prozac.

I haven't smoked in about a year now. I'm stable on lithium and just got my medical marijuana card again for PTSD, and they knew about my bipolar 1 and medications. I'll be starting in a few weeks again when my card comes in the mail.

With so much mixed info out there on the Internet and with doctors, I'd like to know your thoughts and experiences. I am NOT asking if it makes you paranoid or experience weird things for the hour while you're intoxicated. I'm talking about developing severe psychosis from prolonged use.

Have you ever used cannabis regularly? Were you on other medications? Have you ever experienced psychosis just from cannabis?
