They're known as a "throw away pet". I'm not sure where you live but you can find stands at the mall with them and like half of the pet stores. I got diamond from the mall and titanium from the pet store, which I didn't even know sold them. They're only $6 usd here. Lots of parents buy them for their kids and they usually don't live long with kids. The oldest known one is 32+ years old! I'd be way too scared to hold it.
