It may not cause sleep issues. My hypomania is mild enough that I sleep in spite of it (sometimes first falling asleep is difficult because of the racing thoughts, but I do eventually sleep a normal amount). I wouldn't be concerned about it being a "hypomanic episode" unless you have racing thoughts, talking too much/ too fast, or agitation or anger.
