Hi SandyWeb -- I don't think you're a loser, and I hope that you will stop thinking of yourself that way. Sure, I can understand why you'd use words like that and feel disappointed in yourself.

But you took a big step. I am so selfish that I find it really hard to do volunteer work. It's ingrained in me that I should get paid when I work. In fact, my personal definition of work is that it's called "work" and not "play" because people have to pay us to do it. To me, there's almost nothing harder than following through on volunteer commitments. Riding rollercoasters or driving with a drunk at the wheel, but that's about it that tops volunteer work for things I don't want to do.

Like Down says, this is no biggy. If it helps, maybe your daughter or someone else will go with you the first time.
