I'm sorry to hear about the way you feel. I have suffered with social anxiety pretty much all my life and i can understand how you feel. I advise against drinking alcohol because it can lead to abuse way easier than you might think.
Did you hear about grounding methods? If yes, did you try any? Change comes with little steps. You shouldn't push yourself to hard but improving oneself is a constant process. It takes lots of work, determination and commitment but i promise you it's worth it!
