My pdoc has said the same thing as Bluebicycle -that often the weight neutral stuff doesn't work as well/isn't as 'strong' as the weight gain stuff.

But my PCP's have done blood tests to monitor for high cholesterol and Diabetes.

No pdoc I've had has done anything about weight gain in my case. Though I've read of people being prescribed Metformin for this side effect.

Since my dose of Seroquel has gone up, I've been eating a lot more than usual, I especially get the munchies at night. The only thing I've tried is to stop eating for a while to see if I start to feel full after a time, instead of blindly reaching for food after food (with moderate success, I'm not very good at it).

I'm scared to take Topamax -I took it once for pain and it made me tired and stupid (hence the moniker "Dopamax") though it did lessen my hunger significantly. Though others of course may well not experience the side effects I did.
