Its a little complicated. If you can get your pdoc or t to agree that you can't return due to your illness (which is illegal for HR to disclose), then it is a high likelihood you will be able to collect. In my case, my t agreed that I could only return part time and since there was no part time position that was suitable at my place of employment they let me go amicably and didn't prevent me from collecting unemployment.
