As usual on a Sunday morning when I've not had the best nights, Caleb waits till 9 am to wake me. I turn on the TV to the local channel where my church "broadcasts" and wait for Dr. Kennedy (tapes now) and then take the dog out front (so he won't bark on a Sunday morning by being in the back yard.)
We've had a tropical wave affecting us, and the thunderstorms all night and morning have been terrific (horrific?) I knew the back yard would be mud anyway.
So, without hearing any rain (I am about deaf) I turned off the house alarm, leashed up Caleb and opened the front door to ? POURING RAIN!
He had to go out and being part Labrador Retriever, pranced right on out towards the front yard. I, determined that we didn't need raincoats (yes, Caleb has one too) followed him out from under the entryway.
WITHIN 60 seconds the rain completely stopped!
I mean, it began to lessen as soon as we were in it, so all that continued to fall was what the clouds had already released.
God stopped the rain just for us. The tops of our heads got wet (hair) and shoulders...but my clothes stayed dry.
I KNEW I didn't need a raincoat even though it was pouring rain, but I hadn't realized the faith of why. I guess the Holy Spirit just impressed upon me that we didn't need the raincoats because He was stopping the rain. (I was still waking my brain.)
God is good, and His mercy is greatly to be praised!
