My apologies if there is already a thread on this, I couldn't find one on the search engine.

Question: Has anyone taken Seroquel for depression and had success with it?
If so, how long did it take for your depression to lift after starting it?

My boyfriend is depressed - he has bipolar 1 so he cannot take antidepressants due to risk of mania. He takes 200 mg of Lamictal (mood stabilizer with antidepressant properties) and his doctor added Seroquel XR last week for his depression.

He is on the Seroquel XR starter pack which titrates up to 300 mg over two weeks. After that, he has a prescription for 400 mg.

Thanks for any input - I'm hoping his depression lifts soon.
