I think the deal is, you're always going to get lots of different answers. Because everyone's body responds differently to these medications. Serequel causes cravings and even metabolic changes in a lot of people. However, it obviously doesn't do that to everyone. I've heard of people with serious issues at 50 mg and those only impacted at 600mg. Problems after 6 months and problems only after years. Unfortunately, I don't think we yet have a way to know how it will impact you in advance. (And I've had some other severe side effects, in addition to the weight.) If it's a drug that you have a strong reason to take, just knowing ahead of time some of the things to watch for is probably the best thing you can do.

If I'd been asked to guess, I would never have thought it would cause weight gain in me. I was one of the "lucky ones" and had never had to watch my calorie intake at all previously. At 5'7" I maintained 118-121 pretty naturally. I'm sure some challenges would have come up as I moved into my 40's, but I seriously doubt it would have been suddenly putting on 70 pounds in two years with no major life style changes.
Thanks for this!
