I have another story
Many, many moons ago when my daughter was about 3 my car conked out and until I had the money to fix it we rode the buses. It was a blizzard conditions day and we had to do a run to the grocery store before the city shut down the transportation. The snow was think and wet and while waiting for the bus one of my bags( this was long ago when brown paper bags were the go to bags) broke, the driver hopped down helped me get everything in. Lifted my daughter( who was hardly able to walk I had her so bundled up) into the bus and drove up to the store ran in and got more bags, it was his last run before shutting down for the blizzard and there was only a few of us on the bus so he went up the street by my apartment building to let us off so we didn't have to walk so far. My daughter said a loud thank you as we exited the bus, as did I. What a sweetheart.
