Hello allie_rose: Welcome to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks!

I hope you find the time you spend here to be of benefit.
I'm sorry you are having such a difficult time. I'm glad you've begun seeing a therapist. I hope you will feel able to share, with this person, all that is going on with you including those thoughts of ending your life. It is important to reach out for help in real life. It can take time for antidepressants to take effect. So, since you've only been on Zoloft for a couple of weeks, it may be it simply hasn't yet had time to take hold. However, regardless, it will be important to share what you are experiencing with your prescribing physician. Not all AD's work for everyone. Sometimes it can take a few tries before you find one that will work for you. Yes, you can get better. You can have a happy & healthy life (with or without medication). You just have to keep fighting.
PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. There are many knowledgeable & caring members here. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!
