I think in the US there is a large lack of emotional intelligence. There is a lot of stigma about mental illness and we don't get the help we need. I had a bad experience with the ER and a couple of therapists.

I did have some good experiences and there are good one out there. It sucks you have to try several times to get help before you find it.

The mental health care system in our country is COMPLETELY BROKEN. We are a nation of people who don't give a ____ about those going through these types of struggles. I hate America and I hate it's lack of heart to help people in need. It's all lip service and no one putting the money (because that's why we don't make an effort, it's all about the $$$) where the collective mouths are. It's the same ____ when I approached HR at work about the issue. They could offer no help to me either... just "Find a therapist on your own". Yeah, been down down that snake oil path three times already. There's no way to even begin to find the right person to understand you, let alone who can give you the tools to solve your problems. Something needs to change.
