I have in the past done so. I mentioned it to the woman but did not ask permission of any sort. I put it as a statement. I don't do it now because I am using her for a different purpose. Before it was to have evidence for when she would deny having said or not said something. I did not need to listen to me - I wanted to know if I remembered correctly or if she did.
