Hello falloutnoir, yes I definitely think you should see a psychiatrist and tell him/her about these feelings and how long you've had them. I think you can benefit from therapy, too, but I think you should see a psychiatrist first.

Depression can be a dark, very strange place at times. There is light at the end of the tunnel. You mentioned bipolar, too. We can't diagnose you but we can support you. I think a psychiatrist would conduct a full mental health examination to reach a diagnosis. Well, that is how they reach a diagnosis in my country. From there, a treatment plan can be introduced which often includes therapy.

I'm glad you reached out and joined PC forums. You will receive a lot of support here. You are not alone. Visit the forums and post where you feel comfortable. You don't have to have a diagnosis to post in any forum.

Posting threads of your own and replying to other people's threads is the most satisfying way to enjoy your time here, in my experience. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
