Hello lucidity11: I'm sorry you are experiencing this difficulty. I recall the pain I was in years ago following a fairly serious auto accident. I also had to have some surgery a few years back. And I've had some fairly serious low back problems over the years. In both cases I was told that it was very important to get up & get moving as much as possible as soon as possible. If it meant taking pain med's in order to make that possible, then that was preferable to not getting up & moving.

Of course I wasn't going to be going to the gym, riding a bike, or doing sit-ups. Following my surgery, all I could do was to walk up-&-down the hall outside of my hospital room pushing my IV stand. Perhaps what is important here for you at this point is simply to do whatever you can do, even if it's just going for short walks... whatever you can manage. I wish you well with your recovery...
