second many of the other noncontrolled substances you can OD if you take the whole bottle at once. and we're suicidal already, giving us this is handing us a loaded gun.

I'm coming close to deciding to get off the majority of my meds. mood stabilizers and antipsychotics. I'd like to keep the vyvanse and Ativan for focus and sleep. and supplement that with cannabis once I get my card .

Yes, ironic indeed. As a matter of fact I've ODed on my benzos many times and it took a long while for a pdoc to trust me and give them back. I was also put on vyvanse when my drug of choice is uppers! Imagine the mess that was! It ruined my stability big time and I'm still not all there.

I don't know how it is where you are but here in MI, many docs are hesitant to give you a weed card if you're already using prescribed substances. The idea is to use it the pot responsibily and as your only med. for example, I'm on klonopin. But if I go and get my card for anxiety, they'd refuse me because I'm already taking a benzo med for it. They don't want to be responsible if you get toasted on your controlled meds and perhaps hurt yourself when mixing with pot (even though pot is very safe as far as my beliefs). But I guess every dr is different and may let it slide. Good luck and let us know how it goes! And yea, I don't have my card but I smoke often. Haven't blown up yet lol
