In ON, Dr's and hospitals are covered by public healthcare, but medications - outside of hospital are not. If you're working most people have coverage through work, but I haven't worked in 5 years.
Instead I have Trillium, which is the gov't insurance for people who have high med costs relative to your income. How they calculate your deductible is a little screwy and I've been paying a high for me deductible for the last three years. But I got my letter outlining my deductible for the next 12 months, and my deductible has dropped from $465 / quarter to $200 / quarter.
This makes me extremely happy.
