I was told to be very careful to stop myself if I find myself doing things that tend to be early signs of hypomania such a marathon grading of papers (I'm a teacher and have been known to grade non-stop for hours which can set me off), super-driven chores like cleaning or rearranging furniture, etc. Those are things that seem to be like the beginning of a ball rolling down hill. If I take greater care not take breaks, do things in smaller doses, I can avoid that spiral into hypomania. It was awesome advice and has helped me avoid hypomania quite well.
