Agreed. A new hobby would be good.

But also, you can always find healthy foods to chew on that take forever for you to eat. I like sunflower seeds for that very reason -- you just chew them in your mouth all day and it forces you to eat slowly. You'll probably only be able to eat like 10 seeds in 10 minutes. That should give you something to do.

So yeah... nuts with a shell on will work too. Salad with lots of veggies will work.

If you eat applesauce, for example, eat with a fork instead of a spoon. Forks are a pain in the *** to eat with when you're eating liquids or semi-liquids

You can also try chewing gum or eating celery
