So far I've only gotten two gel manicures from the same place. Both times my nails started chipping after a week to 10 days. Isn't the manicure supposed to last for 2-3 weeks? That's what's I've been told by other women. They've all raved about how great it is.

My nails tend to chip and break easily sometimes. Especially now since I started working a physically demanding job as a stocker. Does doing a lot of physical stuff including typing on the computer often and doing dishes cause the gel manicure to not last as long?

I'd like to know what other women's experiences have been like with gel manicures and how long yours have lasted for most of the time. Does the type of polish that is used make a difference or not? I don't know a thing about this type of stuff. It's expensive, so I don't know if getting them is worth it anymore especially since it costs $10 just to remove the polish!
