Thanks a lot for sharing. Basically, your father does not understand ADHD. He does not understand that your "disrespect" is not disrespect. It is a learning disability. My brother has AHDH. Also he has behavior problems, he uses drugs, and has anti-social traits. He can be quite a bully. But I wonder if all theses terrible traits do not come just as a reaction to the bad treatment from my family and society because he has AHDH. It can be devastating.
Please, allow me telling you this: no, your father is not right at being mad at you. You have a learning disability. You need to deeply believe in this. I am telling you this because guilt feelings ruin the lives of people with AHDH. Of course you can do stuff to improve and you are responsible for your improvement. But AHDH is a mental health condition that affects your entire life. It is not your fault.
