Obviously the more working your doing with your hands is going to effect how long gel nails are going to hold up or any kind of nails yours or artifical.

I did acrylic nails for a living in the past... Some people never had a problem and some people were breaking nails often...

The biggest thing I told any of my client is . Don't use your nails as tools, They will not hold up if your opening soda cans or prying things ..

So yes your particular job ( stocking shelves) is going to effect how long your manicure is going to hold up.
