I have been on Cymbalta (or the generic Duloxetine) at 90 mg for about two months now. After a slow taper up, I have noticed that it is the only med that has actually worked all the way. And what I mean by all the way is, I have been on Buspar (sucked) generic Lexapro (Escitalopram... worked but eh) and then Brintellix (or as it is called now Trintellix) after Escitalopram and Brintellix working for depression but not taking fully away the anxiety and anxious mood swings (I would be fine and then something would set off my anxiety and then that was it) my doc started leaning towards more bipolar with my diagnosis and started me on Duloxetine. I take mine in the morning as it is a little stimulating for me and will keep me awake if I take it after about 6 pm although, you will have to experiment to see which works best for you. I have zero patience when it comes to waiting for meds to work so with this one it was no exception. I did notice an improvement in the first week and then a slow increase thereafter. I also take Focalin XR for ADHD as well as Ativan as needed for sleep.
