I was taking classes for medical coding, and just finished taking my final exam at school, but I just found out I failed the exam. The good news is that I can retake it but I have to wait 2 weeks and I only have access to the test until August 20th.
On top of everything else, I'm in a lot of debt, and just received notice that one of the creditors is filling legal action to garnish my bank account. The only way I know to stop it if to file bankruptcy. Which I've wanted to do for a while, but I've been getting help from my dad with my bills (still not financially independent and I'll be 30 in August) and he believes I can still pay everything off. I'm going to have to convince him to let me do this.
I'm tired of feeling like I'm always going downhill.

Medical billing/coding is definitely not easy. I currently work in the medical records department at a major hospital system in the Chicago area where I live doing Release of Information for the medical records. Anyway, I went to school for billing/coding/HIT and know how you feel about thinking you're a failure. I definitely struggled with some of the classes, but somehow I pulled through. I have yet to take the RHIT certification exam because I'm simply afraid of failing, and that exam is not cheap.

Hang in there
