it annoys me so much that people seem to only focus on children with these issues, so that adults who deal with it don't get any support.

children grow into adults and sadly it won't always be resolved in childhood....i mean it's as if there is a cut off age for understanding. tons of resources for adoptive parents of "difficult" kids but none for adults who are alone in the world and have to suffer because they aren't cute enough for anyone to care.
