I don't drive due to medical conditions. But I have been wanting to move away from Boston Proper to save money on rent. I've found that areas that are a short bus ride away from the subway cost just as much as places on the subway. Therefore, I would like to move out further.

I was looking at a place in Attleboro, but the commuter rail pass would cost over $300. The MBTA website says no discounts on monthly passes for the disabled.

Can anyone think of an alternate, less expensive, way to get back and forth from Attleboro to Boston (or similar suburb on commuter rail)?

The rent in the city is just too much to afford.
