I once went to my pdoc with a list of symptoms and told her something was wrong. She dismissed all of it. On the way out of her office( it was a teaching hospital) I stopped by the research library and ask for new info on side effects of the two drugs I had recently been put on. They ran a search, apologized for only finding three results but all of them said the same thing, the two drugs were incompatible and could cause life threatening side effect. Then they listed the same symptoms I had given my pdoc. Went back up and asked the secretary to please give her the three articles while I waited. She came out and called me back into her office and booked me into the medical park of the hospital to be monitored while they weaned me off. She took me more seriously after that.

Another pdoc discounted my back pain while I was in the psych ward and then the rash I developed until I wore my pj shorts out and showed the rash to the nurses, then I was quickly isolated and turned out I had shingles

Another time I was on a psych ward I had horrible stomach pain, couldn't eat or drink without vomiting and couldn't go to the bathroom it was dismissed as malingering. I checked myself out Ada and went to the ER, turned out I had a bowl obstruction caused by the meds. I was scheduled for emergency surgery and in the reg hospital for two weeks!

So yeah my experience is that all docs but especially Pdocs discount physical symptoms.
