Oh, FFS what a terribly insensitive thing for her to say I've had similar remarks from folks of the same socially inept ilk. Always frustrating.

In this particular case, I think my friend was attempting to steer the conversation back to him and his relationship. And yeah, I guess he was one-upping me as well.
