hey. i was worried about that too. i had a little look online and one guy was saying that the underside of the leaves do have pores and those need to remain clear - so you should be careful not to oil the underside of the leaves. he was saying that the top of the leaves is more about photoreceptors to collect light, however, and as such that it was okay to oil them. but... to be careful because oil can attract dust and that dust makes it harder for the plant to collect light.

but that was some random thoughts that i found...

so i was wondering whether someone knew more than that...

my stepmother used to let me oil the top side of her palm, but i guess i wondered if there was something special about palms where it was okay to do that and that i shouldn't try it with my plant...
