Are there places you and your friend like to visit where kids would be unlikely to go? Or if they were there they would be expected to behave appropriately? An art gallery or museum perhaps? I don't like places where kids run riot, I was brought up to behave nicely and the world has changed and I haven't kept up with those changes. I empathise with how you feel, it is hard.
