...in fact, I'm not sure I've written any poetry before other than what we had to write during English lessons at school, but I wrote this a couple of nights ago (at about midnight, which is my excuse for any bad grammar you might find ), and although it's really not very good, I thought I'd share it. Haven't thought of a title.

So, where are you from?
And when I tell them,
Maybe I imagine it, but
I see pity in their eyes, and I
Don't want it.
It's not meant for me.
Change the subject.

Ever wondered what it's like
To be too scared to search for your hometown online
For fear
Of what you might see?
11 years on
It's all still there, and I
Can't read it.

And then there's my mind
My own worst enemy.
It will always lead me back
To this, of which I cannot speak
The words, but it will always stay with me.
Just a few memories
But it's enough.
