Its wondeful that your friends are supportive!! That is so important. Whenever I talk about the book, I mean the book Alcoholics Anonymous. I think you can find it at bookstores, but its cheaper at meetings and mine was given to me when I was new. It just outlines the program, and there are stories in the back written by other alcoholics. Another good book is Living Sober. It gives a lot of tips and techniques on how to get through early sobriety. I'm not sure where these books would be located in the bookstore. Here they are on amazon:

I'm kinda shocked, they aren't too expensive even on Amazon! We have them at cost in the meetings, and someone will always help you get them if you can't afford them. These are the books I swear by!
