About two years ago I had a year of solid stability. No ups no downs. no lethargy. I worked a job at blue cross blue shield. I just lived life. I was just on lamictal and Risperdal. Then, I had a change of psychiatrists. Mine retired. My new guy was foreign and didn't really know what he was doing. He said, "winter is coming, ya know" "and people get really depressed in winter." I told him I was stable. He eventually convinced me to get on Cymbalta and after a month I was in the psych hospital, again. Mania this time. I've never been stable since. Me and antidepressants don't work well. Me and lithium don't work well. I don't respond. Benzos make me depressed. So I'm currently on stage 3 of weaning off remeron, my antidepressant and my new pdoc wants me just on rexulti and lamictal. We are also tapering benzos, titrating up lamictal, and I'll just have to go through the hell of depression to get to the stability. My bipolar is just that way. Everyone's bipolar is different, just like everyone's depression is different and has a different cause. So I hope and pray this works. I'll give it a good solid year.
