I believe you. I grew up with in a house with strong negative paranormal activity and know how frightening it can be. I am now 54 and to this day every time I look down a darkened hall I think that I will see a ghostly figure. But where I live now is free of disturbances. It is just that you cannot forget certain experiences once they happen.
The forum rules state that there is not to be talk of religion, so I will try not to delve into that. But it is hard not to when dealing with the spirit world. Keep the Lords Prayer handy and if you feel you are in danger, then recite it. Also stay away from spirit boards, seances and from trying to smudge your house on your own. I think my innocent dabbling in the occult when I was a kid did not help my situation.
As Gus pointed out above, try not to be afraid.
On a more positive note, I see you are in Ireland. I just returned from vacation there. I have to say I think Irish people as a whole are the nicest on the planet.
I wish you much peace and harmony.

Reason: Administrative edit to bring within forum guidelines - No discussion of specific deities/prayers etc.
