That is a good idea to ask the doctor about Mirtazapine for several reasons. It helps the depression symptoms by increasing the Seratonin levels of the brain. It also helps reduce anxiety by making you feel relaxed. I take that drug every night and it has helped me a great deal. Whenever I have a panic attack and feel like I cannot breathe, when I take Mirtazapine, it helps to relieve the tension of the anxiety attack and it also relieves my depression symptoms.
