So if I get you right someone from work said you they love you as a gimmick for everyone to be amused?
My father has had a similar experience. He worked in a software company back then where they would have conferences where everyone sat in fron of their own computer but all sitting on one table and discussing. So during one of these sessions a work colleague would write him a "love letter". My father reacted in a humorous way and drew a stick figure in Paint saying "Oh". Then everyone would love out loud when he sent it because the work colleague would make her screen for everyone to be visible. My father found it funny too and he likes to tell this anecdote.
However, I think if I had been in a similar situation, I would have not reacted that chill and I woud not have been so easy about if I found out it was a gimmick.
I'm not sure as to what happened in your case exactly, was it just one insctance or did they play the game for a while (if you feel comfortable telling)?
Anyway, I understand if you feel uncomfortable and stuff after being treated that way. After all, there's always the possibility to find another job, in case there is a tendency in your work place to find "bullying victims" I would definitely do that if this applies. A predatory surrounding makes you sick after a while.
