But that if I didn't maybe I needed to transfer over to a full time counselor, there at the VA., so maybe I could be seen more often than once every 2-3 months. All this kind of knocked the wind out of me. First I had no idea there were more modules, she said she didn't mention that at the beginning because she felt I wouldn't come...and she was right. And the thought of going to another counselor....makes me want to vomit.
Anyway, glad to hear that you don't feel that dissociating is anything serious, just a cue that something is overwhelming.....
Wow... yeah, doesn't sound like she was too upfront about the dbt,and also like she's not really holding true to the original model. "They've" cut down on what's considered "essential" to dbt, though they forget that it was designed to be used comprehensively.

I'm sorry t suggested finding someone else if you choose not to return to dbt.that's kinda a ****** position to be put into. Maybe though, it would work out better? I dunno... I personally Hate changing therapists, but i've done it quite a few times. In the end, most of the changes were beneficial in some way. Had one previous t not abandoned me while I was in crisis, I wouldn't have gotten set up with current t,who is actually really good and helping me a lot... I know it sucks, but maybe a new t could be more helpful? (Even if it just means you can see them more often)
Thanks for this!
