When I was first diagnosed with Bipolar, I was my pdoc if it was BP1 or BP2. She told me it's BP1 since I have had manic episodes before. I think the diagnosis is fitting. Also, it's not uncommon for me to get mixed-mania/agitated depression rather than just "classic" episodes of depression absent of the manic symptoms.
