My understanding is that if you have psychotic symptoms, that puts you squarely into the Bipolar 1 category, so I guess that would leave out Bipolar II, which narrows it down a bit. Now what percentage of people with Bipolar I get psychotic symtoms I have no idea.

As far as it coming back, my pdoc mentioned something called the 'Kindling Effect" where the more episodes you have the more likely you will continue to have a lot of episodes. Or something like that. Along the same lines, he said the longer you've been stable, the less likely you will have another episode, or at least any time soon.
