Its all so familiar.
What I have learned is that when something this traumatic happens our brains split to protect us - the emotional side is shutdown. What that leaves us with are the flashbacks and feeling child like at times.
Now we get to experience these emotions as they come up. But because we didn't experience them at the time they are very difficult to manage; they seem to be out of context.
Through our therapy we can understand them and hopefully, put them behind us.
