I had a pair of $200 Ray-Bans and they scratched when I dropped them on the ground on the sidewalk. I was sooooo pissed!
It's possible that Ray-Bans are of cheap quality.
Nowadays I just buy cheap, polarized, scratch-resistant sunglasses on Amazon because I seem to not be careful with my glasses
