Lately I've been consuming more caffeine than usual (because sleeping poorly) and I've noticed that the effects can mimic hypomania (but isn't). The effect can last an extra day, but then it calms down once the caffeine is truly out of my system.
The problem too is that if after the caffeine is out of your system, and then you go back on excessive caffeine, the same scenario can play out again and then it can seem like rapid cycling (but it isn't).
Have any of you felt like you're in a hypomanic state only to realize that it was caffeine-induced and then calmed down once you've stopped the caffeine (or at least excessive amounts)?
