I had a session with my pdoc today. I was not feeling good and spending most of my time looking at the floor or his books or his shoes. I told him that sometimes between sessions I have problems remembering what he looks like (although I have been seeing him for several years). So he talked me into looking him right in the face. I looked at him for awhile and then he raised both his hands, waved at me and gave me a silly smile. Of course, I could not help but smile back. Sometimes, the little things like that make me have that much more faith in him. Not only is he good at managing my meds, but he also knows how to make me smile when I am having a rough time. Now, I will get to carry that smile around with me for awhile.
