Assisted suicide is legal in Oregon and in some other US states, but it looks like you have to be someone with less than 6 months to live to get help.
I don't understand why people with chronic, unrelenting depression can't get help. Over 40,000 people suicide each year in my country, in inhumane, painful, and often violent ways.
Assisted suicide seems like the humane thing to do for some who wish to end it without taking the risk of suffering excruciating pain or being maimed and damaged even more, prolonging misery.
It feels like I'm already dead, all my energy is expended merely forcing myself to get through each workday. Maintaining my job takes everything I've got, and I don't even like my job or most in my field of work
This is NOT living.
